Hugin and Munin

Ah, finally Runelight from Joanne Harris is out. The sequel of her fantasy novel 'Runemarks' and it was even better than expected. It was definitely worth the wait!

Obviously I had to draw a fanart for this nice novel. And no, it isn't Loki this time, haha. Though a drawing of him sure will follow.

No, this time it's Hugin and Munin - or Hughie and Mandy, in Runelight - because I've found Odins sweet-toothed ravens too adorable for words.

However, I am not too statisfied with this. It lacks depth, dynamic and atmosphere and is one of those drawings that's just like sit-a-character-somewheredand-draw-a-colourful-background-in-there pictures, that I never liked to look at...

Especially because my scanner ruines the blacks, that actually made the characters 'pop' out of the picture. .__.;;;

At the beginning I had hopes to draw something quite nice, but it does not fulfill the expectations I had at all... Well, it just means I should practise more, I guess...

I also used a lot of artistic freedom when interpreting the characters (two white feathers instead of one, accidentally drew the runemark on the wrong arm - damn - and haven't used as much jewelry as described. xD)

But this is the first time I've ever drew clouds and trees with copic marker and considering that the result is not that bad. (I constantly sat there like "OMFG what am I doing?! D:", haha.)
